Animals in Serengeti

We describe some of the animals that you can find in Serengeti National Park:

BUFFALOES:

It is a very big animal, usually brown or grey. They have two horns and four limbs. They also have a long tail.
They live in the jungle and the Savannah. They eat plant and grass.


GIRAFFES:

They are very big and very tall!  They have a long neck, small ears and a lot of brown spots on his yellow skin.
They live only in one continent: Africa. They are herbivores, they love eating twigs of plants.






HIPPOS:

They have got small ears and they haven't got horns. They are brown or grey. They have got big teeth. They can't climb trees. They live on land and in water. They can swim.
They eat grass because they are herbivores.







CROCODILES:

They are aquatic animals because they live in water. They have small ears and small eyes. They have four limbs. Its colour is green. They can swim. They have scales and big teeth. They are very dangerous.

Serengeti National Park

The Serengeti National Park is a large national park in Tanzania It is made up of grassland and woodland, plains, and marshes; all of which make up a savannah.


 
It is most famous for its annual migration of over one and a half million wildebeest and 250,000 zebra move thousand kilometers looking for grass and water.


The park is known for its healthy stock of other resident wildlife, particularly the "Big Five", named for the five most famous hunters: lion, african leopard, african elephant, black rhinoceros, african buffalo.


But there you can see other animal species like: hippos, vultures, ostriches, monkeys...
It´s a very nice place to visit !

What is a Natural Park?

A Natural Park is a protected natural landscape where we can find animals and plants that are in danger.

It can be terrestrial like Serengeti or aquatic like The Great Barrier Reef.
